Air Fried Crispy Chilli Beef

Ingredients
250 g Thin Steaks (Cut into thin strips)
4-6 tbsp Cornflour
2 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 Red Chilli (thinly sliced or 1 tsp Cayenne Pepper)
1 Red Pepper (Thinly sliced)
4 Spring Onions (Roughly chopped)
Sesame seeds (for sprinkling)
Beef Chilli Marinade:
½ tsp Chinese Five-spice powder
2 tsp Soy Sauce
2 Cloves of Garlic (Crushed)
1 tsp Sesame Oil
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1 tsp Caster Sugar
Honey Chilli Sauce:
4 tbsp Dark Soy Sauce (or Tamari sauce)
1 tbsp Hoisin Sauce (or oyster sauce)
2 tbsp Shaoxing Wine
3 tbsp Clear Honey
2 tbsp Vinegar
½ tsp Chilli Powder
Directions
Combine marinade ingredients and coat steak strips. Allow them to marinate for 15 minutes or overnight.
Place cornflour in a plastic lunch box, add steak strips, and shake to coat. Drizzle with oil and shake again.
Set the air fryer to 200℃, cook beef on the rack for 6 minutes, turn, and cook for another 6 minutes until crispy.
Simmer sauce ingredients in a pan for 3-5 minutes until thickened. Add beef, mix, and incorporate spring onions and red peppers. Heat through and serve with sesame seeds.
Leftovers:
To preserve the deliciousness, store leftover crispy chilli beef in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For freezing, use a freezer-safe container or bag for up to 2-3 months. Reheat in the oven or toaster oven to maintain that delightful crispiness. Enjoy the flavor journey!
