🍫 Moist Chocolate Loaf Cake
🛒 Ingredients
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- ½ cup (50g) cocoa powder (unsweetened)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup (150g) sugar
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- ½ cup (120ml) milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- ½ cup (120ml) hot water or hot coffee
- ½ cup chocolate chips (optional)
🔪 Instructions
1. Prep
- Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F)
- Line or grease a loaf pan
2. Mix dry ingredients
- In a bowl, whisk together:
- Flour
- Cocoa powder
- Baking soda
- Salt
3. Mix wet ingredients
- In another bowl, whisk:
- Eggs
- Sugar
- Oil
- Milk
- Vanilla
4. Combine
- Gradually add dry ingredients into wet mixture
- Mix until smooth (don’t overmix)
5. Add liquid
- Slowly stir in hot water or coffee
- Batter will be thin — this is normal
6. Optional add-ins
- Fold in chocolate chips if using
7. Bake
- Pour batter into loaf pan
- Bake for 45–55 minutes
- Check with a toothpick — it should come out clean
8. Cool & serve
- Let cool in pan for 10–15 minutes
- Transfer to rack and cool completely before slicing
