  • 1 ribeye steak (thick-cut, ~1–1.5 inches)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • 2–3 tbsp unsalted butter

🔥 Instructions

1. Bring Steak to Room Temp

Take the ribeye out of the fridge and let it sit for 30–45 minutes. Pat it completely dry with paper towels.

2. Salt Generously

Season both sides with salt. No pepper or herbs if you’re staying strict carnivore.

3. Heat the Pan

Use a heavy pan (cast iron is best). Heat it until very hot—almost smoking.

4. Sear the Steak

Place the steak in the pan:

  • Cook ~2–3 minutes per side for medium-rare
  • Adjust time based on thickness and preference
    Don’t move it around—let a crust form.

5. Butter Baste

Lower heat slightly, add butter:

  • Tilt the pan and spoon melted butter over the steak continuously for 1–2 minutes

6. Rest the Steak

Remove from heat and let it rest for 5–10 minutes. This keeps the juices inside.
