Ingredients (1 burger)

Chaffles (the “bun”)

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)

Burger

  • 4 oz (115 g) ground beef

  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Toppings

  • 2 slices bacon

  • ½ ripe avocado

  • Pinch of salt + lemon juice (optional)

  • 1 slice cheese (cheddar, American, or Swiss)


Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Bacon

  • Cook bacon in a pan until crispy.

  • Set aside on paper towel.


2️⃣ Cook the Burger

  • Form beef into a thin patty.

  • Season with salt & pepper.

  • Cook in a hot pan 2–3 minutes per side.

  • Add cheese on top during the last minute; cover to melt.


3️⃣ Make the Chaffles

  • Preheat waffle maker.

  • Mix egg + shredded cheese in a bowl.

  • Pour half the mixture into the waffle maker.

  • Cook until golden and crispy (3–4 minutes).

  • Repeat to make 2 chaffles.


4️⃣ Smash the Avocado

  • Mash avocado with a fork.

  • Add pinch of salt and a squeeze of lemon if you like.


5️⃣ Assemble

  1. Bottom chaffle

  2. Burger patty with melted cheese

  3. Crispy bacon

  4. Smashed avocado

  5. Top chaffle
