Carnivore Salisbury Steak with Gravy

Ingredients (Serves 4)

Steak Patties

  • 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20)

  • 1 large egg

  • ½ tsp salt (or to taste)

  • ½ tsp black pepper (optional)

  • ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)

Carnivore Gravy

  • 2 tbsp butter or beef tallow

  • 1 cup beef bone broth (unsalted preferred)

  • ½ cup heavy cream

  • Salt to taste

Optional Add-Ins (Still Carnivore)

  • Beef gelatin (½–1 tsp) for thicker gravy

  • Extra butter for richness


Instructions

1️⃣ Make the Salisbury Steaks

  1. In a bowl, combine ground beef, egg, salt, and seasonings.

  2. Gently mix (don’t overwork).

  3. Shape into 4 oval patties.

  4. Heat skillet over medium-high heat.

  5. Sear patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned.

  6. Remove patties and set aside (leave drippings).


2️⃣ Make the Carnivore Gravy

  1. Lower heat to medium.

  2. Add butter to the skillet drippings.

  3. Pour in beef broth, scraping up browned bits.

  4. Simmer 5–7 minutes to reduce slightly.

  5. Stir in heavy cream.

  6. Simmer 3–5 minutes until thickened.

    • For thicker gravy, sprinkle gelatin and whisk well.


3️⃣ Finish the Dish

  1. Return patties to the skillet.

  2. Spoon gravy over them.

  3. Simmer 8–10 minutes until fully cooked and tender.

  4. Taste and adjust salt.
