Ingredients (6–8 servings)

Meat Crust

  • 2 lb ground beef (100% natural, 80/20 preferred)

  • 2 tbsp butter (for cooking beef)

  • 1 tbsp butter (for greasing pan)

  • ½ tsp Paleo Pink salt (or to taste)

Egg Filling

  • 12 large eggs

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • ⅓ cup cream cheese, softened

  • ¼ tsp black pepper (optional)

  • ¼ tsp Paleo Pink salt (optional, to taste)

Topping

  • ⅛ cup shredded cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or Colby Jack)


Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat Oven

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).

  • Generously grease a 9×13-inch baking dish (or similar) with 1 tbsp butter.

2️⃣ Cook the Beef

  • In a large skillet over medium heat, add 2 tbsp butter.

  • Add ground beef and cook until fully browned.

  • Season with Paleo Pink salt.

  • Do not drain the fat (keeps it juicy).

3️⃣ Form the Crust

  • Transfer cooked beef into the greased baking dish.

  • Press firmly and evenly into the bottom to form a solid crust layer.

4️⃣ Prepare Egg Mixture

  • In a large bowl, whisk:

    • 12 eggs

    • Heavy cream

    • Softened cream cheese

    • Salt and pepper

  • Whisk until smooth (small cream cheese bits are okay).

5️⃣ Assemble

  • Pour egg mixture evenly over the beef crust.

  • Sprinkle ⅛ cup shredded cheese lightly over the top.

6️⃣ Bake

  • Bake uncovered at 350°F for 40–50 minutes, until:

    • Center is set

    • Top is lightly golden

    • No jiggle in the middle

7️⃣ Rest & Serve

  • Let rest 10 minutes before slicing.
