Air Fryer Steak with Butter (Carnivore Version)

Air Fryer Steak with Butter (Carnivore Version)

Description:
Juicy, buttery steak cooked to perfection in the air fryer—no carbs, no veggies, just pure carnivore goodness. Quick, easy, and full of flavor.

Ingredients (Serves 1–2):

  • 1 ribeye or sirloin steak (1–1.5 inch thick)

  • 1–2 tbsp butter (unsalted, or grass-fed for extra flavor)

  • ½–1 tsp kosher salt (or to taste)

  • Freshly ground black pepper (optional, can skip for strict carnivore)

  • Optional: 1–2 garlic cloves, crushed (for basting, if allowed)

Instructions:

  1. Prep the Steak:

    • Pat the steak very dry with paper towels.

    • Season generously with salt on both sides. Pepper is optional.

    • Let it rest at room temperature 20–30 min for even cooking.

  2. Preheat Air Fryer:

    • Set air fryer to 400°F (200°C) and preheat for 3–5 minutes.

  3. Cook the Steak:

    • Place the steak in the air fryer basket.

    • Cook 8–12 minutes, flipping halfway, depending on thickness and desired doneness:

      • Rare: ~8 min

      • Medium-rare: ~10 min

      • Medium: ~12 min

  4. Add Butter:

    • In the last 2 minutes of cooking, place butter on top of the steak to melt and baste.

    • Optional: add crushed garlic or fresh herbs like thyme/rosemary on top for extra flavor.

  5. Rest the Steak:

    • Remove steak from air fryer and let rest 5 minutes before slicing. This keeps it juicy.

  6. Serve:

    • Slice across the grain, drizzle with melted butter from the top, and enjoy your pure carnivore feast!

Tips:

  • For thicker steaks (1.5–2”), increase cooking time slightly or finish with a quick pan sear for crust.

  • Use grass-fed butter for richer flavor and extra fat.

  • If strict carnivore, skip any garlic or herbs; salt + butter is enough.
