🥩 Carnivore Butter Ribeye Steak (Strict-Friendly)

Ingredients

  • 1 large ribeye steak, bone-in

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp beef tallow (or ghee)

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter

Optional (non-strict carnivore):

  • ¼ tsp garlic powder


Directions

  1. Bring to Room Temp
    Remove the ribeye from the refrigerator 30 minutes before cooking.

  2. Dry & Season
    Pat the steak completely dry with paper towels. Season generously on both sides with salt.

  3. Heat the Pan
    Heat a heavy cast-iron skillet over high heat. Add the beef tallow and let it get smoking hot.

  4. Sear
    Place the steak in the pan and do not move it for 3–4 minutes until a deep brown crust forms.

  5. Flip & Lower Heat
    Flip the steak, reduce heat to medium, and cook another 3–4 minutes.

  6. Butter Baste
    Add butter (and garlic powder if using). Tilt the pan and spoon the melted butter over the steak continuously for 2–3 minutes.

  7. Rest
    Remove steak from pan and let rest 5 minutes.

  8. Serve
    Spoon the remaining butter over the steak and serve hot 😋
